About
A family-owned music school in San Diego, founded by two musicians who met in Germany.
Daniel Lee, flute
Flutist Daniel Lee is a graduate of HfM Dresden in Germany and has performed on three continents. As a soloist based in Dresden, he performed in cities including Dresden, Leipzig, Meissen, Görlitz, Chemnitz and Kassel, as well as in Poland, the Czech Republic and South Korea.
As an orchestral musician he was a member of the Junge Münchner Philharmonie in Munich, the RIAS Orchester in Berlin and the HfM Orchester in Dresden. That time gave him the opportunity to perform under conductors including Sir Colin Davis and Marek Janowski.
His two main teachers were Eckart Haupt, principal of the Staatskapelle Dresden, and Stephan Rety, principal of the Basel Symphoniker. He also attended master classes by Robert Aitken, András Adorján, Renate Greiss-Armin and Petri Alanko.
The Klassik Arts story
Klassik Arts was established in San Diego in 2013 by Daniel and his wife, pianist Yuju Jung. They met in Germany while pursuing their music degrees. Yuju was a full scholarship student at the German State School of Music “Carl Maria von Weber” in Dresden, where she graduated with a Master's degree in piano performance.
You'll hear Yuju at the piano in the Poulenc and Mozart recordings. Together they continue to perform and teach, and they also run Little School, a bilingual preschool.
